Not tested. We have not used the Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra. This page reports the maker's published specifications and marketing claims, with the date they were checked. Claims about speed, accuracy or reliability are Elegoo's, not our findings. We will upgrade this page to a review if we get a unit to use.
What was announced and when
Elegoo announced the Saturn 4 Ultra on April 15, 2024, alongside the cheaper Saturn 4. Elegoo's announcement highlights Tilt Release Technology, which tilts the resin tank and screen to ease model removal, a COB light source with a Fresnel collimating lens, hands-free automatic leveling, AI detection of an empty build plate and warping, Wi-Fi file transfer, cluster printing and power-loss resume. It quotes layer times of up to 5.5 seconds.
A higher-resolution Saturn 4 Ultra 16K followed in January 2025 at a launch price of $519.99, according to Elegoo's release. That model is a different printer; this page covers the 12K version.

Price
On the Elegoo US store on 2026-10-10 the printer was listed at $399.00 USD, with a struck-through price of $593.99 USD. The store also listed bundles with a wash station and resin; their prices change often, so check the current listing. The Saturn 4 Ultra 16K showed $499.00 against a struck-through $649.99 on the same date. These are US store prices in US dollars; shipping, tax and prices in other regions can differ. Sale prices on maker stores tend to come and go, so do not treat $399 as a fixed price.
What is new versus the Saturn 3 Ultra
Elegoo's Saturn 3 Ultra page lists a similar screen and the same XY resolution. Comparing the two spec lists on Elegoo's US store (checked 2026-10-10):
| Spec | Saturn 3 Ultra | Saturn 4 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Screen | 10-inch 12K mono LCD | 10-inch 12K mono LCD |
| Build volume | 218.88 x 122.88 x 260 mm | 218.88 x 122.88 x 220 mm |
| Z-axis accuracy | 0.01 mm | 0.02 mm |
| Light source | COB plus refractive | COB plus Fresnel collimating lens |
| Net weight | 12 kg | 14.5 kg |
| Power requirement | 24 V, 7.5 A | 24 V, 6 A |
| Price shown | Check current listing | $399.00 (list $593.99) |
So the screen and XY resolution are unchanged. The visible differences on paper are a shorter build height, a different light path, a heavier body and the Tilt Release mechanism that Elegoo leads its announcement with. Elegoo claims the Fresnel lens gives 92% light uniformity; that is a maker figure we have not checked.
Who it may suit (opinion from the specs)
This section is our reading of the specifications, not a verdict.
- Hobbyists printing miniatures and small models. A 12K screen and 19 x 24 micrometer pixels target fine detail on a build area of roughly 219 x 123 mm.
- People who want a more automated setup. Elegoo lists automatic leveling, a camera, Wi-Fi transfer and power-loss resume, which may reduce fiddling if they work as described.
- Anyone who needs tall parts should look elsewhere. At 220 mm, the build height is 40 mm less than the Saturn 3 Ultra.
- Buyers weighing the 16K. Elegoo lists the 16K at 14 x 19 micrometer XY resolution and a heated tank; the price gap on the day we checked was $100.
Resin printing needs a washing and curing setup and safety precautions. See what resin 3D printing is, resin safety and FDM vs resin before you buy, and compare options in the best resin 3D printers guide.
What we will test if we get a unit
- Setup time, leveling and first-print success out of the box.
- Print detail on a standard miniature and a calibration model, using the stock resin profile.
- Real layer times compared with the claimed 5.5 seconds and 150 mm/h.
- Whether Tilt Release changes how easily parts and supports come off the plate.
- Noise, power draw and how the camera and app behave over Wi-Fi.
Until then, treat every figure above as Elegoo's claim and check the current listing before buying. Failed prints are common with any resin printer, so read how to fix failed resin prints too.
