Not tested. Nozzle Notes has not printed on this model. Everything below is taken from the maker's own pages and the press coverage cited at the end, and performance claims are the maker's claims, not our results.
The Bambu Lab P2S is an enclosed CoreXY printer with a 256 mm cube build volume, positioned as the refresh of the P1S. This page collects the maker's specifications and UK prices, lists what the maker says is new, and says who it is likely to suit.
What was announced and when
Wikipedia's Bambu Lab article lists the P2S announcement as October 2025, and Tom's Hardware published its review on 14 October 2025 under the headline "Refreshing a best seller". That review quoted US pricing of $549 for the printer and $799 for the combo at the time of review. Those are historic US prices, not current ones.

Price in the UK
Prices were read from the Bambu Lab UK store page on 2026-10-10 and are in GBP including VAT. The Combo listing also showed a higher crossed-out price of £699. Check the live listing before buying.
| Version | UK price (GBP) |
|---|---|
| P2S (printer only) | £449 |
| P2S Combo | £649 |
| P2S Combo Print with Care Bundle | £689 |
The Combo includes the AMS 2 Pro and a filament buffer, per the store's what's-in-the-box list. Store shipping and returns are in the Bambu Lab UK guide.
What is new versus the P1S
The maker's page and wiki describe these changes. All performance wording below is the maker's claim.
- Adaptive airflow. The store says cool air is drawn from outside the chamber so low-temperature filaments can print with the door closed, and a flap seals heat for engineering filaments. The wiki FAQ says there is no active chamber heating.
- Extruder. A permanent magnet synchronous motor servo extruder with a claimed 70 percent more extrusion force than its predecessor, and hardened steel gears.
- Quick-swap hotend. A one-clip design that the store says releases the nozzle and heatsink assembly without disconnecting wiring.
- Electronics. A 5-inch touchscreen, a 2 TOPS neural processing unit for AI error detection (spaghetti, nozzle clumping, purge chute jam), and a 1080p camera.
- Multi-color. Support for the AMS 2 Pro, which adds filament drying. The wiki FAQ says up to four AMS 2 Pro and four AMS HT units can connect, for up to 20 colors.
- Frame. Smooth steel rods instead of the carbon rods on the P1 series, which the wiki says makes cleaning easier.
The two models are compared in P1S vs P2S, and the older model has its own first look. Bambu Lab's larger dual-nozzle machine is covered in the H2D first look.
Who it suits (opinion from the specs)
This section is opinion based on the published specifications, not on use of the printer.
- Buyers who want an enclosed printer for engineering filaments. The hardened steel nozzle and the filament list that includes carbon fiber grades mean fewer extra purchases than the P1S, but the lack of active chamber heating is a limit to weigh for the most warp-prone materials.
- People who want multi-color with filament drying. The AMS 2 Pro is the main reason for the £200 step from printer to Combo. Drying advice is in how to dry filament.
- Budget-first buyers. The £449 P2S costs £120 more than the P1S listing, and the open-frame A1 starts at £209. See enclosed vs open-frame printers for when an enclosure is worth it.
Running costs matter as much as the sticker price. The print cost calculator and the guide to 3D printer running costs in the UK cover electricity and filament.
What to test when a unit is available
- Real print times against the 600 mm/s and 20,000 mm/s2 figures.
- Overhang quality with PLA and the door closed, to check the cold-air claim.
- Chamber temperature during long ABS or ASA jobs.
- Reliability of the quick-swap hotend and the AI error detection.
- Measured power draw against the 200 W steady-state claim.
