Not tested by us. Nozzle Notes has not printed on the Anycubic Kobra S1. The figures below come from Anycubic's press release and its store page, checked on 2026-10-10. Performance numbers are Anycubic's claims.
What Anycubic announced
Anycubic issued a press release on January 3, 2025 announcing the pre-sale of the S1 Combo, which it called its first multi-color FDM printer with a fully enclosed CoreXY structure. Pre-orders began on January 2, 2025 at a founder's price of $549 (or 549 euros), followed by early-bird phases and in-stock sales from February 11.
The release describes it as the company's third multi-color FDM printer after the Kobra 3 Combo (May 2024) and the Kobra 3 Max. Both of those are bed slingers, so the S1 is the first with an enclosed CoreXY design.

Price
The launch price was a $549 founder's price. On 2026-10-10 Anycubic's store page showed the 4-color Combo with no filament at $399 (listed as 'Other' plug type) or $459 (EU plug), in US dollars. The 8-color Combo started at $598 and $688. Every variant was marked out of stock, so we cannot say what you would pay today. Bundles with 4 kg of filament cost more.
Anycubic's store also lists a larger Kobra S1 Max Combo from $899. For other options in this price range, see best budget 3D printers.
What is new
- Enclosed CoreXY. Anycubic says this brings more stable temperatures and a wider material range than its bed slingers. See CoreXY vs bed slinger.
- Filament drying while printing. The ACE Pro uses heaters and air circulation to dry filament; Anycubic claims it can lower box humidity from 93.2 to 42.6 percent in 10 minutes. Our guide on how to dry filament explains why this matters.
- Upgraded hotend. Anycubic describes a newly upgraded 320 C all-metal hotend with a tool-free swap.
- Quieter running and automatic resume after power loss.
Who it suits (opinion from the specs)
This is our reading of the specs, not experience with the machine.
- Likely to suit: buyers who want multi-color printing and ABS or ASA capability from a budget enclosed printer. Anycubic says it arrives 95 percent pre-assembled.
- Check first: stock and the final price, and the ACE Pro limit that TPU 95A is not compatible with it.
- Less suited: anyone needing more than a 250 mm cube. Read multicolor 3D printing explained before paying for color capability you may not use.

What we would test
- Print time for a standard model at recommended and maximum speed settings.
- ACE Pro reliability across many color changes, and the filament waste per change.
- Whether the drying function measurably helps with hygroscopic filament.
- Real noise levels against the 44 to 46 dB claim.
- Power draw and running cost, using the print cost calculator.
